Overview
Limited headroom Auger Injection piles up to 600mm diameter are installed by Piling Solutions in restricted sites using concrete or grout, offering high capacity loadings. These piles can be installed in all ground conditions and are capable of dealing with any combination of strata and ground water conditions. The need to compromise or redesign the piling layout is often eliminated, producing savings in time and cost.
Product Description
Piling Solutions install Auger Injection piles from 300mm to 600mm diameter, to depths in excess of 20m for compressive loads up to 2400kN, subject to ground conditions. Small, powerful rigs are available to work in headroom of less than 4.5 m and in restricted access or working conditions. Augers are typically extended in 1.2m sections using drive couplings and during injection these are removed in reverse. Reinforcement can be designed and detailed to resist lateral pile loads and bending moments using sophisticated computer aided design techniques. The flexibility to use concrete or grout from delivery areas remote from the working area and the ability to carry large loads is likely to present a good solution in many cases. Piling Solutions have developed and lead this sector of the Industry, and now have considerable experience in installing large diameter limited access piles gained on contracts carried out throughout the U.K.
Applications
Offering limited access with minimal vibration and noise, the Piling Solutions Auger Injection system is ideal for urban developments, especially where extension or redevelopment is planned. Projects are often undertaken where upgraded or new foundations are required in proximity to existing structures, boundaries or in landlocked sites where the full range of rigs we have in our fleet have enabled us to install the most cost effective solutions. We have designed and installed retaining structures with the capability of installing the piles closer to existing structures than is possible using conventional CFA rigs, releasing additional space to accommodate temporary or permanent works. Railtrack and highway works are other sectors that have benefited from the specialised equipment and expertise available from Piling Solutions. We have developed working methods and equipment that allows us to carry out safety critical work adjacent to live rail operation, without the need for working possessions.
Soil conditions
Piles can be installed in most ground conditions using this system, unstable soils and ground water do not require support and piles can be terminated with penetrations in to clay, granular materials, chalk or soft rocks or by end bearing on harder stronger rock formations. Through the experience gained in installing limited access piles, Piling Solutions have also developed equipment and rigs capable of augering through ground containing cobbles and boulders.
