Piling Solutions Ltd were employed as a sub contractor by McGrath Development and Construction to design and construct suitable piles forming a contiguous bored pile wall and some bearing piles. The basement extension is to the rear of the property the only access for the construct the piled wall was via a 1.4m wide passageway between this and the neighbouring property.
74 number 450 diameter piles were constructed for a retained height of either 5m or 3.5m dependent on the section of the basement. Pile reinforcement being full length and up to 6T32bars per pile section.
During a second visit to site, after the basement excavation, 21 bearing piles of 300mm diameter were constructed. Access for these being gained through the existing basement garage.
