The CA40 CFA from Piling Equipment Specialist Ltd is a specialist piling rig that has been developed especially for today’s limited access piling market. Although compact in size it boasts a large range of features including a unique bottom mounted rotary drive gearbox system and state of the art computer system.

The Clo CA40 piling rig was specially designed and brought into the U.K. by Piling Equipment Specialist Limited, to undertake large diameter limited access piling work upto 600mm in diameter. The CA40 uses the innovative method of installing a Continuous Flight Augered Pile (CFA) by adopting a “bottom drive gear box” technique. This gives the CA40 a very low center of gravity. Due to this feature Piling Equipment Specialist Limited were able to use a much smaller machine to power the rig, enabling us to achieve a very limited access capability, i.e. 2700mm width. Once erected and in conjunction with the state of the art on-board computer monitoring system, the CA40 enables the engineering side of any construction to monitor ground conditions/ground strata and concrete procedures extremely accurately. When fully flighted the CA40, consists of 13.6 metres of augers, plus an optional Kelly bar extension (for added depth), up to and including 6.0 metres in length. Piling Equipment Specialist have added their own style concrete swivel to the top of the Kelly bar, which allows 20mm ready-mixed concrete injection, by means on on-site concrete pump. Another unique feature of the CA40 Rig is the adaptability of its Komatsu base unit, which makes it extremely maneuverable in most ground conditions as well as enabling the rig to auger across its tracks.
